Khadijah
Khadijah, 12, lives with her parents Dan and
Lasondia, her sisters KeAmbrah and Brandie, and
her brothers, Chris and Mike Jr. She is in the
seventh grade where her favorite subject is science.
When she is not playing outside, she is dancing to
the tunes of her favorite singing group, Destiny’s
Child. Khadijah would like to be a famous
supermodel when she grows up.
Khadijah was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a
cancer of the muscle. |

Taylor
Taylor is seven years old and lives with her parents, Ryan and Angela, her older
brother, Chase, and her baby sister, Maia. Taylor enjoys reading, drawing, and
dancing, especially ballet. When she grows up, she wants to be a prima ballerina
and a doctor.
Taylor was diagnosed in October 2002 with Ewing’s sarcoma, cancer of the bone.
Her drawing shows her family and nurse Pat walking through pretty flowers with
dinosaurs flying in the sky and walking around. Taylor says that her heroes are
Barbie Swan Lake and the doctors that help her. |

Lauren
Lauren, 10, lives with her parents Amy and Lacy, her little sister Alise, and pets,
Mimi, Lila (cats) and Beauregard (dog). Lauren is in the fifth grade at where her
favorite subject is math. When she grows up, she want to be a gymnast like her
hero Carly Patterson; she admires Carly because she is someone who has
worked hard to accomplish her goals.
Laura was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a cancer of the blood. |

Macy
Macy, 7, lives with her parents Michael and Sarah, her
little sister Madison, and Piglet, her gray striped cat. She
is a first grader, where her favorite subject is music. Her
musical inspiration is the Prince in “Sleeping Beauty.”
When asked who her hero is, Macy replied that her
school nurse is her hero because she pulled the very first
tooth Macy lost. Much to the nurse’s delight, Macy has
decided to be a dentist when she grows up.
Macy was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a
cancer of the blood. |

Joseph
Joseph, 14, lives with his parents Beverly
Payne and Winston, his sister Shakira and
his brother Deon. He is in the eighth grade,
where his favorite subject is physical
education. Joseph enjoys going to the
movies, riding go-carts and playing football
and basketball. When asked who his hero is,
Joseph said that God is his hero because He
is the only One who can heal him from his
sickness.
Joseph was diagnosed with Acute
Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a cancer of the
blood. |
